Begonia chloroneura
This striking Phillipine species derives its name from the bright green venation marking the deep burgundy leaves (chloro = green; neura = nerve). This rhizomatous species will grow quite large, but requires sufficient lighting to maintain its form.
Note that this is the true chloroneura, not the false one that was circulating a while ago; we know this, because it was a NOID hybrid propagated by Callum for a commercial nursery, where he had tentatively labelled it as ‘aff chloroneura’. This nursery then released it to retail sellers without changing the tags, hence the distribution of the plant with much less pronounced colouration and rounder leaves.
Please note that you may not receive the exact plant shown in the photo, but you will receive one of similar sizing.
