Our very own custom-blend mineral potting mix, using Mineraland Gritty Mix and Kanuma. With a high cation exchange capacity (CEC), our blend has the capability to hold nutrients delivered during watering and then release them as required by your plants. The entire blend has great air porosity, and the addition of Kanuma (with a pH of 5.5) creates a buffering that is loved by acid-loving plants like Aroids and Hoyas. In fact, we’ve used this mineral blend on many different genuses and have not found a plant that doesn’t thrive. By far, the best blend for those wishing to grow in passive (aka semi-) hydroponics, or those just wanting to ditch the fungus gnats.

INGREDIENTS:

Mineraland Japanese Kanuma

Mineraland Japanese Gritty Mix (diatomaceous earth, pumice, green zeolite, scoria, maifan stone and vermiculite)

PRECAUTIONS:

Gloves are recommended when using any potting mix. If you do not wear gloves, please ensure that you have no cuts in your skin and that you wash your hands thoroughly after use.

Rinse thoroughly prior to use, or flush until water runs clear after potting up.

Always water from above, rather than bottom-watering. This mix may sit in a reservoir with water, but do not allow it to stay in water too deep as this will limit the plants’ ability to access oxygen through its roots.

We recommend using a complete liquid nutrient whenever watering, however, flush monthly with plain water.

If using a reservoir, we recommend using a topical IPM (integrated pest management) rather than granular.
